Company profile

The company profile is the short briefing every agent reads before it says anything: what your company sells, to whom, why customers choose you, and what they usually push back on. Appricity writes the first draft from your own knowledge, and you correct it.

What's in the profile?

About your company

  • Summary
  • What you sell
  • Who you sell to

How you sell

  • Value to customers (up to six points)
  • What sets you apart (up to six)
  • Typical buyers (up to six)
  • Common objections (up to six)
  • Pricing questions: either Hand pricing questions to my team (the default) or Agents may discuss pricing from our knowledge
  • Competitors (up to ten)

Where does the draft come from?

From your knowledge sources, with your website's pages read first. The profile is generated automatically shortly after new knowledge finishes processing (a burst of uploads produces one update, not many), and you can also choose Generate now or Regenerate at any time. It's written in the language most of your knowledge is in.

If you have no knowledge yet, the page points you to Documents or to crawling your website.

Will regenerating overwrite my changes?

No. Any field you save is marked Edited, and regeneration never touches an edited field. It only refreshes the fields you've left to Appricity.

If you want a clean start, Reset my edits clears every edit mark and regenerates the whole profile from your knowledge.

When do agents start using my edits?

From their next message. After you save, the page confirms that agents use the new profile from then on.

Who can change it?

Anyone in the workspace can read the profile. Only an admin can edit or regenerate it.

How does the profile affect conversations?

Every agent receives a compact version of the profile with each conversation. It's what lets an agent describe your company accurately on turn one, before any document has been retrieved, and it's how the Pricing questions choice reaches every agent at once.

The default, Hand pricing questions to my team, works together with the default hand-over rule for pricing questions.

Where is it?

Knowledge → Company profile, or Settings → Company profile. The status at the top shows Not generated yet, Generating…, In use or Generation failed (in which case your saved profile is unchanged), along with its version and when it was generated and edited.
