FAQ: getting started

How long does it take to set up?

The setup wizard takes a few minutes: your website, the roles you want agents for, their names, your knowledge and one channel. Appricity reads your website and documents in the background, and drafts your company profile shortly afterwards. Most teams have a working test conversation within half an hour.

Do I need to configure anything before it works?

No. A new workspace comes with recommended settings: role surfaces, a default agent, a sales methodology, refusal topics and hand-over rules. Every setting shows whether it's the recommended value, and why, so you can change what matters to you and leave the rest.

What knowledge should I give it first?

Your website, then product documentation, sales decks and transcripts of good calls. Leave out anything you wouldn't want repeated to a prospect.

Which file types can I upload?

PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Markdown, HTML and plain text, up to 50 MB per file by default. You can also paste text and transcripts, add web pages, or crawl your website.

Can it read scanned PDFs?

No. PDFs need to contain real text. Export a text-based version of a scanned document.

Can I try it before anything reaches a customer?

Yes. Try it gives you a test conversation against your real settings, where you play the customer. Nothing is sent to anyone.

Which languages does it support?

English, French and Arabic. Conversations are answered in the contact's language, and knowledge in one language can answer questions in another.

Can I skip the setup wizard and come back later?

Yes. Skip setup takes you to the workspace, and Settings → Setup wizard → Run setup again brings the wizard back at any time.

Who in my team can use it?

Admins configure the workspace; users work day to day with conversations, documents, leads and activity. Screens a role can't use are hidden.

Does it work on a phone?

The day-to-day screens (Home, Conversations, Needs review, Documents, Leads, Playbooks, Scheduling, Swarm and Activity) are designed to work on a phone. Configuration screens are best used on a computer.

How do I know the workspace is ready to go live?

Admins see readiness on Home: how well the brain answers a set of quality checks, broken down by language, with what still needs attention.

Where do I find my workspace ID?

In Settings, under your profile: Workspace ID, with a Copy button. You need it when another workspace refers to this one, for example a demo target that signs in to it.

Where do I get help?

Start with the guides, especially Getting started and Troubleshooting answers. For anything else, contact Appricity.
